Customer's own existing bike extensively modified
The customer already had a nice lightweight steel road bike from the 1970's but wanted a more upright riding position, better brakes, more luggage carrying capacity and ideally a slightly easier gear ratio for the steeper hills. She initially assumed this would mean getting a completely different bike, but was pleased to discover that her existing bike was more than good enough as a starting point. Upgrades include a pair of dual-pivot long-reach calliper brakes, a taller stem and high Dutch-style handlebars, a front low-rider pannier rack and a smaller chainring to achieve a lower gear ratio.
