Yael
Shop Manager and trainee mechanic
Yael Ben-Gigi is responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop: booking-in bikes and assessing them for repair, helping customers choose used bikes and components, ordering stock, answering the phone, and book-keeping. And as if that weren't enough, she's also a good mechanic!
Yael started working one day a week at Jake's Bikes in September 2009 to gain hands-on workshop experience and further her already extensive knowledge of cycle maintenance, having previously volunteered at the Bristol Bike Project and the Kebele bike workshop in Easton, and joined us full-time in March 2011.
In her spare time Yael enjoys learning odd languages, cycle camping holidays, and volunteers as a cycle instructor at Bristol Refugee Rights' Welcome Centre in Easton.
