Avoid if at all possible; use responsibly where essential

• Biodegradeable citrus-based bicycle degreaser and hand cleaner are used to prevent discharge of chemicals into the sewage system.
  
  

• No aerosol lubricants, paints, adhesives etc. are used.
  
  

• The tiny amounts of waste oil, grease, and contaminated floor sweepings produced are disposed of responsibly.
  
  

• Restored bikes are powder-coated rather than spray-painted, a process which produces less waste and involves no thinners or solvents, and the finished result is more durable and more resilient than paint.
