Reasons to buy a new bike

Jake's Bikes is better known for selling recycled second-hand bikes, but we also sell some carefully selected models of brand new bikes and there can be good reasons for considering one of these instead.

Why buy a new bike instead of a used one?

1. No waiting: we have increasingly found that certain types and sizes of bikes are becoming scarce on the second-hand market - especially ladies bikes and smaller hybrids. If you are looking for a particular size or type of bike and don't want to have to wait for weeks of even months for something suitable to come up for sale, why not see what new bikes we have on offer instead?
   
   

2. Choice of sizes: all new bikes are available to order in a range of sizes with only a day to wait from order to delivery. No more putting up with a bike which is too large or small!
   
   

3. Not stolen: although at Jake's Bikes we take great care to ensure that the used bikes we sell have never been stolen, unfortunately the same cannot be said of some second hand bikes purchased elsewhere. Obviously, by buying a new bike you avoid this pitfall entirely.

Why buy a new bike from Jake's Bikes?

1. Free tune-up and set-up worth £35: each one of our new bikes is carefully assembled, inspected and serviced, even including hand-finishing the wheel trueing, and you will receive a completed checklist when you buy a new bike from Jake's Bikes to show exactly what work has been done. This service would normally cost £35 if purchased separately. In contrast, any bike bought online or from a mail order catalogue will be delivered partially disassembled in a box and will require assembly and servicing prior to riding.
    
   

2. Free 2-month service worth £45: all new bikes sold by Jake's Bikes come with a free service worth £45, available at any point during the first 2 months of ownership - please contact us to arrange your free service. 3. 12-month warranty: all new bikes sold by Jake's Bikes come with a 12-month warranty on materials and workmanship. Does not effect your statutory rights. Terms and conditions apply, please click here for details. Be aware that many bikes (even brand new ones) bought online or from mail order companies do not come with a full warranty, and often have no warranty at all unless they were assembled and checked by an authorised bike shop.
